The Real Cost - D&AD GooglefontsXHMCT brief

The issue of child labour affects over 150 million children worldwide, with more than half of them working under hazardous conditions. Developing countries in South Asia are particularly affected by this issue across industries like agriculture, cotton and textile, and brick and coal. The purpose of the campaign is to create awareness and inspire action to combat child labour by evoking emotions like courage and inspiration in the audience, the campaign aims to create a deeper connection and greater impact in promoting change.
Multi sensory digital posters: Whenever we go shopping for any product the only things that we see are the appearance, quality and the price but what about the forced labour and sacrifices of a child that’s gone behind in making this product? These posters aim to reveal the true cost of products in the 3 main industries that are a prey to child labour, namely the textile industry, agriculture industries and factories and mining.
Guerilla Marketing: To support my campaign I have even looked at guerrilla marketing. These posters tagged “the REAL cost” and the tagline will be places in shopping carts and baskets, so that every time you add a thing in your cart it reminds you to think beyond, about the product.
AR Instagram Filter: Catering to my target audience of genz where everyone is inspired by aesthetics and customisation. This filter will detect your clothes and the products in the frame and turn it into a vector illustrator. With the graphic which says the real cost and the tagline. This is aimed to spread awareness as well as remind people of their choices of products.
